With over 40 years martial arts experience,
John Araujo Shihan is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Aikido.
Araujo Shihan embraced the foundation of Tenshin Aikido methodology.
Tenshin Aikido is Sensei’s Take Shigemichi
(AKA Steven Seagal Sensei), interpretation of Aikikai Aikido.
Tenshin Aikido started as the unique methodology that
Take Sensei taught at his dojos bearing the 'Tenshin' name.
Take Sensei is organised under the Aikikai Aikido World Headquarters,
meaning that his particular Aikido remains a part of Aikikai.
At its higher levels, Tenshin
training can appear intimidating
However, students are not required to do
anything beyond their current skill level.
In Tenshin Aikido, strikes are more realistic
and the techniques are tighter.
It is the deflections and precision footwork that earn Tenshin its unique branding. This gives techniques distinctive effectiveness.
Araujo Shihan’s Aikido has evolved into a very unique and
functional and practical form of Aikido focused on Bushido,
the martial side of the art.
